Thank you

Thank you for showing me what love is NOT.
Now I will recognize what love IS,
With eyes wide open.

Thank you for all of the lies,
because now I know not to listen to words,
But instead, hear  a person's heart.

Thank you for walking out on me,
Leaving me to be free,
And remember myself again.

Thank you for the chance to choose
forgiveness instead of hate,
Love instead of fear,
And to live each day in gratitude.

Thank you for breaking my heart
And leaving me shattered into a million pieces,
Because the ME I picked up and put back together
Is so much better than before,

With a beautiful light
shining through all of the cracks.

This is another beautiful and touching poem. I enjoy your personal and deep thoughts that must require so much introspection and ability to choose just the right words.
It seems that you have become stronger through this experience and are now able to smile and feel good about who you are. I'm happy for you and admire the hard work it took to get to here.
I hope spring is on it's way and you continue to be happy -it's not easy, I know!
Love, Connie

Thanks Connie. It is not easy, but still such a beautiful journey.
